:P Grew up with CBS soaps! Along, with my mom. Since, she worked the grave yard shift she would watch ALL the CBS soaps and if school was out I would watch along with her. It was great fun! after soaps everyone in the would come outside (in good weather!) and talk about what was going on in each soap. It was a very good time for soaps and for the people who watched them!!! |

I was the exact same way about the pool! I didn't have a sibling to go to the pool with but I can definitely remember how during the summers none of my friends and I would go to the pool until after DAYS except some days I would also wait until AW was over too. The pool didn't open until 1 and Days aired at noon so it wasn't a big deal at first but then the NBC affiliate moved both Days and AW both an hour back in the timeslot and then that really sucked because if I stayed to watch AW I couldn't get to the pool until 3:15 or so. I think that actually may have been when I first started tuning out of AW and only watched Days. Awww memories. |

My mother, aunt and grandma all watched the ABC soaps, so technically I grew up with them, but I always personally watched the NBC soaps. My favorite was DAYS. Loved Sunset Beach (never really could watch it due to my NBC station airing it at 10AM) and the first couple years of Passions (2002 is when I started losing interest, honestly). Never got into Another World until it's last year or two on the air and then became a fan watching reruns on SoapNet. I know I would of loved Santa Barbara. I eventually got into B&B for a few years very heavily and lost interest, now I'm back involved. Same with Y&R, it's very on and off. I'm loving OLTL and have watched regularly since Ron Carlivati came on. I also watched ATWT during Hogan's tenure and then lost interest. Like others, I LOVED GL from 1997-2002. Almost as much as I had loved DAYS during that time-frame. |

Grew up on ABC soaps. In the summer all the other boys were out playing in the dirt while I was curled up with mom on the couch and completely in awe of Brooke English  |

I grew up with NBC soaps. Since I was born, my mother watched DAYS, so I've been exposed to the show right since 1986. She stopped watching in 1995 and I continued off and on. Watched a few years Passions off and on and most of Sunset Beach. |

ABC. AMC/GH were the best soaps on the 1990's. Those were the days when soap were written A LOT better. |

I don't remember if I was home sick from school or if it was in the summer, but I was instantly hooked on DAYS once a saw Vivian roll on top of Carly's grave. My mom always watched AW and DAYS, but I never really paid attention to them until I was 10. From then on I have always watched DAYS and never really watched any other soaps until Sunset Beach/Passions. I became hooked on PC because it was aired at 2:30 in the morning so I would watch it every night right before bed. When Eve was killed off, I was just as hooked on PC as I was DAYS. Over the years I have watched all the soaps that are still on today for at least one episode. I generally have never liked AMC, B&B, or GL. I know Y&R is or used to be a top notch soap, but it was always too slow for my liking. If I had to pick a 2nd soap it would easily be OLTL. Honestly though, I don't care for any soaps these days outside of DAYS. Once DAYS is gone, my soap viewing will be over. I love reading these kinds of threads and find it funny how OLTL is hardly ever mentioned as a soap their family watched or got into. |

My family watched CBS and the first soap I started watching on my own was GL. Then I ventured out and discovered DAYS and then NBC was my network. When I was home from school I would watch Texas, The Doctors, Search for Tomorrow, Days of Our Lives, Another World, Guiding Light and Edge of Night. Then NBC cancelled Texas and The Doctors. I started watching ABC in 1983 when they premiered Loving and that was the first soap I started watching from the beginning. That's when I picked up Ryan's Hope. Soon after I was watching all the new soaps that came on Loving, Santa Barbara, The Bold and the Beautiful, Generations, The City, Sunset Beach, Port Charles and Passions. Santa Barbara came in 1984 and that is still my favorite soap of all time. So I guess I am an NBC boy at heart because I still watch Days and it is awesome right now. |

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.

I'd have to say ABC. I used to watch AMC (I loved Nina & Cliff), then Loving, and OLTL (occasionally). LOVING?! Damn I feel old now. |

Growing up in Canada and not having cable until I was in university, we watched whatever aired on Cdn. networks. My mom was already watching EON and AW when I was born, so I naturally watched them with her. We added in Texas when it was spun off AW. SFT & RH aired up here briefly and we watched both. I started getting into GH in 1981. At the same time, my best friend started watching Days. We made a deal to watch each other's soap so that we'd have someone to discuss them with. She bailed on GH mid-80's, but I stuck with both. |
